Q: What is Graviton, and what do I need it for? A: Graviton Technology is currently only a requirement for one ship; the infamous Death Star. It's not the ONLY requirement, mind you, but still, it's the most expensive/risky technology out of all 3 needed.
Q: How do I get Graviton? It costs 300,000 energy! A: Well, since it would take an ungodly amount of resources to rely solely on solar and fusion plants for this, we'll need solar sats. A lot of them. You might want to visit the following site: http://www.o-calc.com/, which helps you to figure out how many satellites you need, how much it would cost to get them, and how long it would take.
Launch of satelite
Q: How should I build my solar satellites? A: Very quickly? To be honest, there are multiple ways of doing it. Here's one way. Some build up mass defence, and then build their sats leisurely behind their wall, knowing that not a lot of people (if any at all) can crash them. This is the defence that protected my successful graviton attempt in Uni 1. Missile Launcher ( 22240 available ) Small Laser ( 11000 available ) Heavy Laser ( 25 available ) Gauss Cannon ( 145 available ) Ion Cannon ( 100 available ) Plasma Cannon ( 101 available ) Small Shield Dome ( 1 available ) Large Shield Dome ( 1 available ) Anti-ballistic Missile ( 50 available ) So, make yourself unprofitable, and most of the time, people won't attack you. Here's another way. Go to that http://www.o-calc.com/ site, and find how much crystal and deuterium you require. Save it up through whatever way you amass res (attack people, raid, crash fleets, trade, steal debris fields, whatever you want short of cheating, lol) and build it all quickly. Now, what I mean by this is that, you should have a planet with lvl 10 or higher Robotic Factory, a Shipyard lvl 12 or higher, a Research Lab that is at least lvl 12, and a Nanite that is at least 3, if you're choosing to do it this way. This way doesn't require you to sink massive amounts of res and points into defence, which can be destroyed. The satellites will be constructed in a short period of time, and all you have to do is make sure that you're around when the satellites are finished constructing, to press the "research" button. Q: What other buildings should I have on the planet I plan on getting graviton? A: As mentioned in the second step up there, you should have the following buildings. A high lvl shipyard for one, preferably 12. Obviously, a lvl 12 Research Lab, because only with that can you research Graviton. Also, you might want to have a nanite of any lvl, but maybe lvl 2 or 3, to build the satellites as fast as possible. Q: Is there anything else I should know? A: Well, the planet slot you plan on doing everything for grav on affects you greatly, as the planet that is farther away from the sun (aka, the farther down the number line you go, from 1, 2, 3, etc....) the less energy shall be produced per solar satellite, so you'll want a planet as close as possible to slot number 1. Since I did my graviton (in Uni 2) on a slot 7, I ended up building a lot more solar satellites than the norm, because I got less energy per satellite, so I had to build more to compensate. Also, once you have graviton, it can't be taken away from you, unless you delete your account. Even if you have all your sats destroyed, and the planet that you researched it on is deleted, you'll still have your grav tech, so don't fret. The energy that is required for Graviton has to be on one planet, the same planet that you plan to research it on. You can't have the 300,000 energy spread out over your planets, it all has to be on the same planet. Just a little side note, if you're planning to build massive amounts of death stars, you should invest in upgrading the hyperspace engine, as it increases the speed of the RIPs (the short form for Death Star....yeah, RIP isn't an acronym for "death star", I know, but hey). Also, the only good that ONE RIP is good for, is pretty much fleetsaving. RIPs are only good in groups of ten or more, so...yeah, I'd say build a lot if you're going to use them for attacking (and even when the hyperspace engine is upgraded, RIPs are still pretty slow in general, so be warned). I believe that's everything that has to do with the celebrated technology Graviton, so I hoped this Q&A helped a little. Brought to you by accessgranter |
